Updated on: 21 Jan 2014
At the European Dog Show 2013 in Geneve, Switzerland, one of the protagonists of the main ring was Rose's Knock Down Eight Count, winner of group 9.
We interviewed his breeder, Carla Rose.
Ms. Rose, you raised Rose?s Knock Down Eight Count: did you see right away that he would become a champion? Link was one of 3 puppies in the litter. They are sired by Can/Am Ch. Xoe's Oscar De La Hoya the top winning pug of all time in Canada. Link finished his championship very fast in the USA. I did know he was special, and I made the right decision of placing him with his owner Pop Praphasirisulee of Thailand. Pop placed him in the hands of his very talented handler, Ekapot Phuripanyaphinan, who took him onto championships in 25 countries. I kept his brother Ch. Rose's TKO who became a top winning best in show dog as well.
Rose?s Knock Down Eight Count won Group at the European Dog Show 2013: were you there that day? What do you remember? Sadly, no I was not there to see this amazing win. I was in Oregon, showing a Link grandson in his first show. When I woke up there were many messages from around the world, congratulating myself on his best of breed win. I was able to watch him in group, on my phone from the shows media real time feed. What an amazing morning I had watching him win the toy group at such a prestigious show.
Tell us about breeding the pugs: when and why did you choose to breed them? My first pug was bought for my son at age of 2. He is now 25 years old. I am captivated by these charming, whimsical little comedians. They bring a smile to my face daily, and provided for me, an amazing journey towards breeding for my ideal pug. I have met so many wonderful people that I now consider friends from around the world.
