Updated on: 01 Jun 2016
It's likely you might find his works on big magazines like Elle India, Vogue and Hello, he has also shot celebrities like actor Vikram, model Yana Gupta and IT industrialist Narayana Murthy, and many more, and is a familiar face in luxury expos around India, but Bangalore-based photographer Lucky Malhotra's life was not on the fast lane a decade ago. He was pulling all-nighters in MNCs, dragging himself to board meeting and boring dinner parties. But call it luck or a hand of fate, he soon changed careers, and by the looks of his work we can say that he doesn't need 'Monster Jobs' at all! He is a known face in the wedding industry, too. People might think he is 'lucky', (which he is) but we think he is 99 per cent hard work and 1 per cent luck! Malhotra gets candid with us and shares things about his early years, his father and how he made his passion his profession and more.
Let's us rewind back a bit, shall we? How was it growing up in Hyderabad?
It was memorable – a great place known for its food, culture and mix traditions. I really miss the food, specially the Irani chai, biryani, road side vendors and the time spent with my friends in the cafe for hours. You hardly find that happening in Bangalore, except for a few places in Shivajinagar.
Can you tell us a little about your fondest memories of your hometown while you were young? Things and aspects that contributed in what you are today?
