What's a breather for you?
I usually catch up with my friends or read a book or listen to some nice music on my phone. That's the best way to spend some me-time. Right now, I am reading The Laws of the Spirit World by Khorshed Bhavnagri.... I love coffee. So, a mug of cappuccino with a lot of broth to go with it. It all depends on my mood. Sometimes I am only listening to music… can be jazz or soft, romantic numbers. The other day I was listening to Hello by Lionel Richie.
Do you have a balancing mantra in life?
It's not a conscious effort. As an individual, I am balanced. I cannot be casual about anything I am doing. I like to give my 100 per cent to everything I do. I am always connected to my family and friends and I hold them dear, which puts me at ease. I know they are just a call away. Life is about everything put together. I know I am a daughter, an actress, a wife, a sister, a friend… innumerable other responsibilities. I feel I have a complete life by being everything. I'll have to be connected to myself….
I am extremely passionate about my work, which has kept me going for so many years. I feel a huge amount of responsibility for delivering my best. In the beginning, people used to ask me whether I feel the pressure. I see it as a blessing. If people expect from you, it's hugely positive. You have to deliver your best. There have been occasions when grown-up gentlemen have come and told me they have been my fans since they were in school! Then it hits you! It's been a good 13-14 years. The fact that people have tolerated me for so long and are still my fans… I am eternally grateful to my audience.
