Exclusive Q&A With : Shreyas Srinivas, Music Producer and Sound Designer
Updated on: 30 Jun 2016
Until he made it, Shreyas Srinivas' life had a lot of resemblance to Hrithik Roshan's character in the first half of Lakshya. He was clueless, and so he joined engineering — sort of a default option for such people. But three months into the IT industry and he had enough of it. He packed his bags and went to Los Angeles, simply because he liked the music scene there. Talk about following your heart. The 26-year-old now stands vindicated and is sitting pretty as a music producer and sound designer with a body of work that comprises Hollywood, Bollywood films and indie music. Excerpts from an interaction:
How did engineering happen?
I had no plans and goals in life in general. I was pretty clueless. Engineering only happened because my parents wanted me to have something to fall back on.
What happened after that?
Right out of college I took up a job at Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) and had to chop off my long hair and get into the IT mode. I couldn't stand it. I quit 3 months into the job, packed my bags and set off to LA with no real plans.
